weekend scrapping

My significant other was out of town this weekend so I spent my time at home watching college basketball and doing a few scrapbook pages.  I'm so far behind in my scrapbooks .. still working on pictures of 2010!  I got six pages finished this weekend!

Just took a quick snapshot of these two pages, nothing fancy but they are done!  A few photos from a bus trip to a Brewers games

These two pages I scanned so you can see a bit more detail.  The papers on both pages and the embellishments on the top page are from Little Yellow Bicycle.  The butterflies on the bottom are cut with the cricut - Serenade cartridge.

A couple more simple pages to get some photos in to the album.  Flowers from Hobby Lobby, paper from Echo Park, cardstock from Stampin' Up and the title is another cricut cut .. this time from the Art Philosphy cartridge.

today I combined a couple challenges to make a thank you card. I used the sketch posted this morning at Operation Write Home and the colors red, black and blue from a challenge at Scrapmaster's Paradise

The stamps I used are from the SP & Company flouishes set (the main image and the pattern on the middle strip of paper)  The sentiment is also from SP & Company's Stitchery Doo Banners set.  Cardstock and ink are Stampin' Up

SP Trends challenge #2

The newest trends challenge at Scrapmaster's Paradise is Hexagons!  Hexagons are very popular and amazingly I do not own many of them.  I did however pick up a little 6x6 paper pack from My Mind's Eye of love papers to use for valentine cards and they had several papers with hexagons.

This is a card I made with one of the hexagon papers as my background. I colored a melonheadz digi with prismacolor pencils in colors to match the paper. The sentiment is from my newest SP & Company stamp set -- Swirly Doo Valentines. This card is going to one of my nieces for Valentine's Day Thanks for Looking!! Robin

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #145

Today's challenge on the fantabulous cricut challenge blog is called the Sound of Music
by coincidence today on another blog I saw them feature the Lyrical Letters cartridge with the just a note saying so I decided to use that idea on my cards for the challenge:

On the first card I used the saying along with a music note cut from the deisgners calendar cartridge
on the second card I used both the saying and notes from lyrical letters
both were embossed with a muscial embossing folder and I inked the second card

the Paper Players Challenge #129

today the Paper Players Challenge blog challenged us to go clean and simple with this sketch

very simple sketch and I made a couple of simple cards, the first card using just an embossing folder and a stamp .. I even left off a sentiment as I didn't want to cut off the bird on the embossing
the second card uses a sentiment that I attached with brads and the same stamp (older one from SU)

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #144

This week's challenge at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog is called It's A Man's World!

We were challenged to use our cricut and cartridges to make a card for a man, I used my Nifty Fifties cartridge and came up with 2 of them:

This first card I used a classic car image.  The cardfront is embossed with my cuttlebug.  The sentiment I added is from Close to My Heart.  The second card uses the first image, a retro looking fish!   Again I embossed the front of the card with my cuttlebug, the sentiment is from Stampin' Up

Chevron Challenge

This week on the forum at Piece of Scrap the Monday Funday challenge was to make chevrons to use on a layout.  The mid-month mix up was a sketch challenge to use these chevrons on the sketch.

I used some papers and stickers I had remaining from a baby kit.  Using two of the papers I made two rows of the chevrons.   The photo and journaling are actually a thank you card I received from my nephew and his family after the birth of their little boy.   That little boy is now an 18 month old toddler, it's hard to remember him being that little!

OWH Midweek Throwdown - flower challenge

This challenge was made for me! I have so many stamp sets with flowers on them, I can't pass them up I guess!

I made a couple simple cards today with flowers - this first one using the dynamic duos color challenge of island indigo and melon mambo.  I also used a freshly made sketch.

The second card was made using a sketch from the fab friday challenge blog

On both cards I stamped the flower on the cardstock with a matching ink then cut out and attached them to the card.  Thanks for looking at my flower cards today!
