Use It Tuesday Challenge 4

The challenge this week on the Use It Tuesday blog was to use the color red on your project along with using something that you have been hoarding in your stash. The color red is in honor of Japan and with each project uploaded they will donate money towards relief efforts. The more uploads, the more $$, so friends please go to their blog and upload your project!

I used some hoarded polka dot paper in red .. I bought a pack of several colors in 2008 but I love dots and I haven't used it much as I don't want to run out! I also used an embossing folder for the flowers that I just tonight took out of the package! The sentiment stamp is from SP & Company.

Hambo Hoedown Challenge 8

For the hoedown challenge this week at Hambo Stamps we were given the Coffee Girl Digi as our image to work with. We also were given this sketch to use for our card:

I followed the sketch pretty closely, using soft sky patterned papers to create the background of my card. I also used soft sky cardstock to mat my coffee girl image and the sentiment. She was colored with SU markers in rose red, river rock and bliss blue:

Thanks Hambo Stamps for another fun image to play with! until next week, Robin

Sparkly Hambo Hoedown week 7

This week the hoedown challenge at Hambo Stamps was to use this Party Elephant digi stamp with some Bling on your card. I colored my elephant with my prismacolor pencils, colored the hat with stickles, and added some bling around the image. I cut the Party sentiment with my cricut (country life cartridge) and then but more bling between the flags. The card was made with inspiration from the March 7 sketch at Sassy Lil Card Sketches

Welcome Baby!

This weekend I'm going to a baby shower honoring my nephew and his wife. Their little boy is due to arrive on June 5. I'm excited as this will be my first great-nephew, I already have 2 great-nieces along with my 6 nieces and nephews.

I used a sketch from Sassy Lil Card Sketches (March 14 reveal) for the card. Yesterday at Target I found this pack of baby papers from K & Company with some matching baby boy stickers. I chose the elephant sticker for this card as the gift wrapping I bought as some elephants on it too.

The colourQ challenge this week was to use the following colors on your project: black, caribbean blue, daffidol delight and pumpkin pie

Not only did I use the colors, I also took inspiration from Leanne, member of the DT, for my card. I used a new Stampin' Up stamp set and my polka dots embossing folder which makes it qualify for the get dotty challenge at Operation Write Home too

Hambo Hoedown Challenge 6

Another Hambo Hoedown Challenge! I love the stamps that Hambo Stamps sends us every week for these challenges. This week we were given this St. Pat's Hamster digi to use on our card with GOLD! I colored my image with my prismacolor pencils using a golden color for the pot and gold metallic for the coins. I also matted my image and sentiment on gold cardstock and added gold brads to the corners. I chose the sentiment "lucky you" as it's the only sentiment close to St. Patrick's Day greetings that I had.

Happy St. Patrick's Day greeting to all my friends!

a Baja Blue Sunday

This afternoon I had a few minutes to make a couple cards. I grabbed some scraps of designer paper from SU and some Baja Blue, Chocolate Chip and White cardstock and came up with these two cards. The first one is based on a sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. I used a birthday set from the current occasions catalog.

The second card was made with this week's sketch at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps blog. The stamp was colored with my SU markers and is from the set Thoughts & Prayers. Thanks for looking!

In like a lion

The first week of March is coming in like a lion with Hambo Stamps! This week for the Hambo Hoedown we were given this cute lion image to use on a masculine card with stripes. I colored my lion with prismacolor pencils, the striped and lighter tan colored paper are from crate paper. The 3 little stars are just punched from paper. Sketch from sketch support.
