Curtain Call {act 71}

This is the first card I made for a curtain call challenge at Stacey's Stamping Stage. The colors this week were cherry cobbler, so saffron, more mustard and crumbcake. My brother and his wife are celebrating their anniversary on Friday so I made this card for them. The owls were stamped in Cherry Cobbler then punched out with my stampin' up owl punch. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the more mustard base, to make it look like a wall, then added a so saffron piece of paper with the sentiment stamped in cherry cobbler.

SPCC #89

Monday means another color challenge at Scrapmaster's Paradise. This week the colors were wild wasabi, marina mist and crumbcake. I used my new stampin' up sale-a-bration set to stamp these Happy Birthday sayings in wild wasabi and marina mist. Punched out then attached to a crumbcake card base. The sketch I used for the card was the latest sketch at Get Sketchy. Thanks for looking

I need a Hero (Hambo Hoedown week 4)

This week for the challenge at Hambo Hoedown we were given the digital image Bird Hero and were given this sketch to use

I make cards for Operation Write Home so I decided to make a couple of anyhero cards for the next box I send. I chose to use some Independence Day papers from Scenic Route, cardstock and markers are from Stampin Up. I printed the image in two sizes so used each of them and made two cards:

Sassy layout sketch 2/14

My first attempt with a flag banner on a layout! I used the Sassy Lil Sketch challenge from 2/14 to create a title page for my latest album. I have always dated the albums as volumes, as opposed to year albums, as I usually have pictures from about 10 months in each album. What do you think of my first banner? I used my cricut and the country life cartridge to make the flags. I also used the font on that cart for Vol. 12 and some old paper and flowers to add to the page

Hambo Challenge week 3 -- take a trip to the beach!

This was week 3 for the Hambo Stamps challenge. This week we were given the image of a pelican and the challenge was to use the image on a card with browns, tans, blues AND a beach theme! Ugh! I am so not a beach person I have nothing that says beach. So I started going through some old scrapbooking product to see what was there and I found this tag that I got long ago in a swap. Not really beach, but it was summer and warm like a beach! I also found this piece of cork that I added .. to kind of look like sand. I printed my image small to attach to the tag, colored him with my new prismacolor pencils and this card was created. Thanks for looking!

my Scrappy Saturday

I actually had a day where I could spend it at my scrap table! I did pretty good getting 3 layouts and a bunch of cards done. Plus I watched some basketball .. pretty good game between Ohio State and Wisconsin and my beloved Badgers came out on top!

the above page is some pictures of a Brewers trip in 2008. The other couple is a coworker and his wife. Not sure I like the title but I used my baseball cricut cartridge for it and if you look closely at the field picture, Corey Hart had a nice catch!

this photo is made using a sketch from sketchinspiration.ning.com I ordered Trisha's sketchbook last weekend and chose this as my first layout of many I'll scrap using these sketches

this is my great-niece's professional pictures celebrating her 1st birthday. The sketch is from a blog hop challenge at scrapbookchallenges.ning.com that I printed off back in January!! about time I got this layout done

and these are all the cards I made for my spring thaw box of cards for Operation Write Home. All of the digital images were courtesy of OWH or some of their members

OWH midweek throwdown 2/9

this week's midweek throwdown was to use red, white, blue and kraft on your card. I used today's sketch at cardpatterns to put together this simple card. It'll go in my next box as an anyhero card

I scrapped!!

This blog has had many more cards posted than layouts, so this weekend I'm hoping to change that and get some of my scrapped pages shown off too!
Tonight I did this layout using the February challenge at scrapchicks.com
The floral paper is actually strips of printed tape! The polka dotted paper is from Papertrey Ink. The photo is my niece, her husband, her daughter and the judge who presided at the final adoption hearing for Brooklynne last May. The sentiment is a stamp I got at Hobby Lobby for a buck!!

OWH sketch #55

A simple card made for this week's sketch challenge at Operation Write Home stars and stamps blog. I'm working on a box of cards for the spring thaw challenge so I made this card in spring colors that could work for Easter or Mother's Day or just a cheery note back home to someone. The papers are from papertrey ink, the image is a digi that I colored with pencils

Hambo Hoedown Challenge 2

The challenge this week at Hambo Hoedown was to use this little monster image from their store, a sentiment, and a heart on a card.
I used the "eye monster" with the image "I've only got eyes for you" I colored him with my SU markers in green galore, real read and brilliant blue. I matted the image and sentiment on a piece of real red cardstock that I cut with some old deco scissors (gasp) but I liked how the pinking look reminded me of his tail, I used green galore for the base. The hearts were punched and then pop dotted on the corners of the card. Thanks for looking!

Sassy Lil Card Sketch 2/7

This is the card that I made my boyfriend for Valentine's Day this year. He is an auto mechanic and when I found this vintage image at tipnut.com I knew that it would be perfect on a card for him.
When I looked at this week's card sketch at sassylilcardsketches.blogspot.com and saw a centered image with a scalloped border I decided to do this part of the sketch on a card with the image I printed. It's simple, but yet I think it turned out cute!
I hope he likes his card as well as he'll like his present .. a sweatshirt that says Green Bay Packers, Super Bowl XLV Champions!!!

Super Bowl Champs!!

Ever since I was a little girl my Sunday afternoons have been spent watching the Green Bay Packers football team. I've watched Lynn Dickey, Don Makowski, Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers run the offense of our football team. Yesterday was a special day for a Packers fan .. we won our 4th Super Bowl title and our 13th NFL title! Such an exciting day and to celebrate tonight I made a couple cards in green and gold using an image I got from Hambo Hoedown http://hambochallenges.blogspot.com

The free image for the football challenge was this cutie and her teddy bear. I colored the images with my glorious green and yoyo yellow SU markers and used matching SU cardstock and some stickers to complete the cards. The one card has some bulky football buttons on it -- thus the bad scan, my camera needs batteries!

OWH midweek throwdown 2/3

This week's mid week challenge at Operation Write Home is themed "On the Farm" .. or in other words to create a card with a farm image on it. I created two of them tonight, a simple one and a more complicated one. The simple card uses a red ribbon with a stamped image from SU Very Punny (a saleabration set from a few year's back) The stamped image is matted on a black cardstock.

The more complicated one is from an old SU set titled On the Farm, I stamped each of the 4 images, colored them with markers, then cut out and attached to the card. I grew up on a dairy farm and my brother and sister and their families currently raise sheep, so I loved seeing the On the Farm Challenge for our troops! I hope to make a few more cards with this theme for my spring thaw box
