some new layouts

I've been doing a little scrapping recently. Jenny at Have Your Way With Paper has been giving daily challenges to help get those past Christmas photos scrapped before this year's Christmas arrives! And I need it, as you can see I need to finish the 2009 Christmas photos and the 2010 Christmas photos before I begin the 2011 ones!

The first two pages here were done for a family challenge, they are pictures of my boyfriends family -- his parents, sisters and nieces and nephews. The patterned paper on both is from SU, the sketch used for the top page is from Pagemaps, the sketch on the other is from Sketch Inspiration.

The next layout of my Christmas tree was for a "glow" challenge. I used a sketch from Sketch Inspiration and paper from Echo Park

The bottom page was done for a winter challenge. I used a new blingy snowflake that I got in a secret santa gift!

SPCC #126

this week's color combo on the Scrapmasters Paradise Color Challenge blog was to use the colors Poppy Parade, Old Olive and Whisper White

I used the snowman stamp from the Christmas Medley set from SP and Company Stamps. I colored him with my SU markers. I embossed a couple pieces of poppy cardstock and olive cardstock and layered them on a whisper white base then I attached my snowman with stampin up dimensionals

layouts from the Portage Crop

WooHoo - I've been scrapping with friends TWO weeks in a row! Here are a few of the layouts that I finished this Saturday. I am nearly finished with my 2009 pictures now! It had been a year since I've gone to a scrapbooking crop and you can tell - I was so far behind in my photos!! But I am pretty much done with 2009 photos (except for Christmas) so I'm starting to make a dent in them!

thanks for looking

Scrapmasters Paradise Red Challenge

To coincide with their November SP & Company stamp releases Scrapmaster's Paradise is hosting a challenge to use the color red!

This past week I got in my mail the Christmas Medley stamp set from SP & Company and the Echo Park Christmas dots & stripes paper pack so I decided to make a card for the challenge with those products. I made the first card for the red challenge, the second card in a non traditional Christmas color ... I think it would make a nice masculine Christmas card

Happy Halloween!

A couple of Halloween cards I made for my nephew's kids!
The first one is for the 4 month old little boy. I used a digital image that I colored with my stampin' up markers

This one is for the little 7 year old girl. Another digital image, this time I colored it with my prismacolor pencils

On both the sentiments were computer generated

Winter cards - SPCC #123

Mondays mean another color challenge at the Scrapmaster Paradise Color Challenge blog

This week the colors were Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi and Pool Party
As I was looking at the designers card Susan's card caught my eye .. she used the stamp set from SP & Company that I had won, and never used, so I decided to make my cards in a similar design. Thanks for the inspiration Susan!!

On the first card I stamped my main image in brown ink, the snowflakes in pool party, and colored in the snowman's hat, scarf and candy cane with my Stampin' Up markers. I matted the very vanilla cardstock on pool party before attaching to my wild wasabi base.
The sentiment was also stamped in brown.

The second card I stamped directly onto a very vanilla card base, again in brown and pool party inks. Colored pretty much the same way as the first card

THANKS FOR LOOKING :)

Christmas Wall Hanging

I made this cute little Christmas wall hanging this afternoon, it was so easy to put together I may make more!

I saw the inspiration for this wall hanging on the Piece of Scrap blog a few weeks ago.
I started with the side of a UPS priority box. I ripped off the writing, it didn't rip so easy so some of the paper is left on there, it's not all corrugated.
Next I cut punched several circles in different sizes in patterned paper. I chose several papers from the Nordic Holiday collection from Basic Grey.
Then I arranged all my circles in the form of a Christmas Tree on the corrugated background. I attached them with large glue dots as I think this is the strongest adhesive I own.

I added several buttons (from Stampin' Up) to cover up some cardboard spots and add dimension and color to the tree
Then I cut with my cricut a gold star (don juan cartridge) for the top of the tree and the Merry Christmas sentiment (calligraphy collection)
Finally I added some ribbon for hanging and it's complete!

OWH sketch 91

Today's sketch challenge at the Operation Write Home stars and stamps blog was a fairly easy one ... 3 equal strips on the card with a sentiment on the top one.
here is the one I made that most closely follows the sketch:

I also made 3 other cards with this super easy to follow sketch, all thank yous, as my shipper Kris stated that she was in need of thank you cards. The paper is scraps of some really old Stampin' Up paper I had and couldn't throw away! The sentiments are either Stampin' Up or Close to My Heart.

Thanks for looking :)

October Blog Hop at SP

The October Blog Hop Challenge at Scrapmaster's Paradise was to use the color orange on your project.

I started with a free digital image from Sandi Huggett which I colored with my prismacolor pencils, using orange of course for the pumpkins!

Then I created my cards with brown and orange cardstock, a fall leaf patterend paper and added a couple of sentiments from the SP & Company stamp set Ultimate Sentiments 1

World Cardmaking Day - 10-2-2011

World Cardmaking Day is celebrated on the First Saturday of October
This year I participated in a blog hop at Operation Write Home as a hopper, not as a cardmaker, but it inspired me to make several Christmas cards for my next box that I'll send to OWH! I also particapated in a crop at Piece of Scrap and the thank you card and the gift card holders are cards I made for challenges at that site. The gift card holders are soooo easy to make! I know I'll be making more of them again!

Scrapping!

I've been on vacation for the past week. I had a couple day trips .. one to the Brewers game in Milwaukee and another to visit my cousin. I've been shopping a couple days and just enjoying the time away from work. I've also gotten some crafting done! In earlier posts I featured some of the cards that I made, below are some of the layouts that I finished this week. Most of these pictures were taken in 2009, one was last September, shows you how far behind I am in getting my pictures onto layouts!

this was loosely based on a sketch from the creative soup forum
I just loved the strips!

SP Color Combo #117

These 2 cards were made with this week's color combo challenge at Scrapmasters Paradise
The colors to use were Very Vanilla, Crumbcake and Regal Rose

On the top card I used an embossing folder on the vanilla cardstock then layered it on regal rose cardstock then attached on a crumbcake base. The butterflies (stamps by jillibean soup) were stamped then cut out and attached to the card. The sentiment is from SP & Company Stamps ultimate sentiments set

On the lower card I used my cricut Country Life cartridge to cut the sheep. Using your Country Life cartridge was a Tuesday challenge on the Scrappy Moms blog. I cut the sheep in the 3 colors and stamped the sentiment with the Fantasia alphabet stamps also from SP & Company

VCMP challenge 4

The Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps blog is having a virtual cardmaking party today. Every two hours challenges are posted
Challenge number 4 was to pick a number from 1-85. I chose 9. Looking at all the sketches featured each Sunday I had to choose Sketch #9
Here's what I came up with!
