52 Christmas card throwdown

Another week for a Christmas card challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown .  This week the challenge is a theme challenge. .. Christmas Baking.   I knew I didn't have any stamps with this theme but I did find these papers with gingerbread and sugarplums so using a sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges I incorporated the 2 designs of the paper unto the card.  I used the Winter Frolic cricut cartridge to make a couple images that I added to the cards.  Thanks for Looking!  Robin

52 Christmas Card throwdown

a 3 day weekend meant some time to make cards and catch up on some Christmas card challenges!
at 52 Christmas card throwdown the current challenge is a color challenge .. to use blue, gold and cream on a card.

this is the simple card I created, using some scraps of paper and my cricut machine.  Previously in February the challenge was a sketch challenge, and using that sketch I created these 2 cards:

Cold weather crafting!

Brrr ... winter arrived today in Wisconsin.  We've had a very mild winter so far but today the temps hovered around zero all day so a good day to stay inside and craft.  I wanted to use some bright "think of summer" colors for a card I made to send to my Aunt and Uncle, so I used today's color challenge from  The Paper Players challenge blog and I used a sketch from Match the Sketch.  Hope you like it!

Merry Monday sentiment in Spotlight Challenge

I'm on vacation this week so working on my Christmas cards!   The challenge for the week at the Merry Monday Christmas card challenge blog was to use a sentiment as the spotlight of your card.  I have the December 25th cricut cartridge which has some sentiments perfect for the front of a card so I made 3 of them.  Thanks for looking!

Anniversary Cards

Hi Friends!
3 months since I posted on my blog, about time I update don't you think?
I've had a busy summer as I decided to take on a part time job along with my full time job.  Add season tickets to a summer baseball league and I was one busy girl from late May to early August

August is a month for anniversaries in my family.   My sister and her husband had one last week, My Aunt Mary and Uncle Bill are celebrating their 50th next weekend.  And my mom's other brother and his wife, Uncle John and Aunt Leone, will celebrate their 60th this week too.

I found the time to make a card for all of them ... hope you enjoy!

Operation Write Home Sketch #252

A couple cards made for today's sketch at Operation Write Home
I'm working on using up papers from a 6x6 paper pad (see post below for more) and I found this cute patterned paper, that would be usable for a child.  The animals are made with the cricut.  The first card follows the sketch exactly, the second card I made the strips wider and moved the image circle.

April OWH Challenge .. Masculine cards

Hi Friends!
This month the ODBD challenge at Operation Write Home stars and stamps blog is to create a masculine card.  I definitely am a person who uses flowers and girly colors more than I use masculine items so this is a good challenge for me to do.  I made 4 cards that are on the masculine side for my next box of cards I send to OWH, thanks for taking the time to look at my cards :)

Operation Write Home March challenges

Hi friends!

I finally had a little free time to craft this weekend so I caught up on some cards for the monthly challenges at  Operation Write Home

The first is the monthly challenge for ODBD.  The challenge was to highlight a sentiment.  I don't have any very large sentiment stamps so I went to the cricut and came up with these cards. Very simple but the red makes them stand out.

Next up is the mid-month throwdown which for this month was to use red/white/blue.  On one card I once again cut a sentiment with my cricut.  The other card I used sketch #251

and then a couple birthday cards for family .. the first I once again used sketch #251.  The other is a 50th birthday card for my sister, a case from a card I found on pinterest.

OWH sketch 248

this week's sketch at Operation Write Home was a bunch of circles, I however am not a fan of circles so I used flowers instead, nice design for a Mother's Day card

I used 3 different sets of Stampin Up flower stamps with the coordinating punch.  The sentiment is CTMH and I used a cuttlebug embossing folder on the background.

OWH sketch 246

Today was a day where I had nothing to do, that is except to spend some time in my craft room :)
I made a few scrapbook pages and cards - this one was for today's sketch challenge at Operation Write Home.  I haven't done one of their sketches for a few weeks and this one was simple.  I made the image square a bit larger than the sketch.  Thanks for Looking!

Operation Write Home Red Friday Bloghop

This holiday weekend instead of a Black Friday shopping day, Operation Write Home is celebrating a Red Friday bloghop  There are blogs with Red Inspiration (love cards) prizes and shopping deals to be had so if you haven't joined in, go do so!  Upon completion of the bloghop you were to make a card using a design/element inspired by a card in the hop.  I chose to use Kristie's card for inspiration.... I used the same pad of doodlebug patriotic papers

christmas card

Today I think I created one of the cutest Christmas cards I ever made.  I was following along with some Christmas Card Challenges and the latest challenge at the Christmas Card Challenge blog was to make a faith based card.  Just the incentive I needed to ink up this adorable SP & Company stamp that I purchased when Sami stopped selling stamps last winter.   I colored the stamp with my spectrum noir markers and the sentiment is a cheap stamp I got at Walmart several years ago.  Then I added the image to some corrugated paper for a rustic look, and attached some gold star brads.  So cute!! I'm very happy with it!
